Hidenori Arai , M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Arai is the Deputy Director of the National Center for Geriatrics and Gerontology (NCGG) of Japan, Director of the Center for Gerontology and Social Science (CGSS) at the NCGG, Vice-President of the Japanese Geriatrics Society, Founder of the Japanese Study Group on Sarcopenia and Frailty, Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Gerontology and Geriatrics and the Executive Editor of Geriatrics and Gerontology International. He has over 200 publications in the field of geriatrics and gerontology. His research focus is dedicated to promoting independence and improving the quality-of-life of older people, which are core missions of the NCGG/CGSS.
